Approaches for estimating mixing time in a water storage tank

Abstract The mixing performance of a water storage tank is important to ensure good drinking quality in distribution system. A tracer study commonly used approach for evaluation but has limitations, such as limited sampling points and inability be applied the full scale at design stage. In practice, time usually estimated by curve measured probe sensor physical study. However, concentration can affected many factors release (e.g., instantaneous pouring or quill injecting), volume, vertical penetration, injecting time, making inaccurate.
